The Museum’s milestone themed, Healthy Communities = Healthy Children, emphasizes the importance of nutrition, physical fitness, green living and a positive attitude. This years’ awards gala will honor the work of five individuals who exemplify our core values and who each have made an extraordinary impact on our communities. Boasting a stunning panoramic views of Brooklyn, intimate live performances by the Brighton Ballet Theatre, a high-end silent auction and unique meet and greet opportunities with our honorees, President & CEO, Georgina Ngozi, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Janno Lieber (President World Trade Center Properties, LLC) and others, this is “the” event you don’t want to miss! Auction items include one-of-a-kind experiences and getaways, luxury fashion items by renowned fashion designers Marc Jacobs and Shane & Shawn, dine-around packages, a studio visit with Soledad O’Brien and much more! Festive cuisine and beverages provided by Butter Beans Kitchen, Bare Burger, Neuman’s Catering, Madiba, BCakeNY, Basil (kosher) and Brooklyn Brewery to name a few. Honorees for the evening are Soledad O’Brien, CNN Anchor & Special Correspondent (Connecting), Marco P. Caffuzzi, partner at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, LLP (Green Future), Leslie Koch, president of The Trust for Governors Island (Inspiration), Lexy Funk, founder of Brooklyn Industries (Creativity) – creator of our new Fantasia mascot (Burmese python) and Green Threads exhibit t-shirts, and Bruce Feiler, best-selling author (Nurturing Families). Their work within their respective fields has been recognized throughout the world as they continue to inspire and lead the way for young global citizens of tomorrow.
