Americans tried to show the French what smart and sexy by remaking the hit French thriller ANTHONY ZIMMER into THE TOURIST, starring Angeline Jolie and Johnny Depp. Join co hosts, Marine Couvé, a French cultural project manager and temporary NY resident, and BYFC Director, Trayce Gardner, as we use clips from these two films to discuss the differences in story structure, framing of shots, acting styles, production design, and impact on the audience. We will also debate what make a film a “thriller”. We recommend that you view both films in advance.
