Former chief of staff Alexandra Rosa was the only veteran of Queens Borough Hall to exit with the departure of Helen Marshall and the entrance of new borough president Melinda Katz.

Dan Andrews, who has served as press secretary at Borough Hall for over two decades, also stepped down last month. Recently, he sent out a nice departing email to members of the press corps. It read:

On December 31, 2013, I will be leaving my post after more than 23 years as the Press Secretary for the Office of the Queens Borough President.

If you need to reach me on any personal matter or notification, please contact me at [redacted].

It has been a great privilege to work with each and every one of you.

And that folks, just might be the longest statement we have ever received from the longtime press secretary of Queens Borough Hall.

Incidentally, Katz will hold her inauguration this Thursday evening at LeFrak Concert Hall on the Queens College Campus. We hope she sings the oath!
