If you’re a frequent reader of the Queens Ledger/Brooklyn Star sports section, then Alyson Chiaramonte should be a familiar name to you. We raved about St. Joe’s fireball-throwing pitcher last year after she threw the first perfect game in school history and helped lead the Lady Bears to the HVWAC title.

Well, this year she’s back at it.

Chiaramonte improved her 2010 record to 10-3 on Sunday by pitching a one-hitter in St. Joseph’s 10-0 romp over Sarah Lawrence.

Chiaramonte struck out 10 batters, and took a perfect game into the fifth inning.

But she was strong at the plate as well, extending her hitting streak to 17 games.

At 19-8-1, the Lady Bears are getting ready to run through the HVWAC, and if they do, Alyson Chiaramonte will be a big reason why.
